In my ideal social experience, the food would be Chili's themed, the company would be feminine, and the conversation topics would be messy. If you have ever experienced a Sex and the City type of lunch/ dinner you know why this is the caviar of social interactions. Women (or men who get it.. i.e gay) getting together, especially as our world gets crazier is pertinent to us remaining sane and connected. I value my girl-time more than almost anything, and with that said, the provisions must pair well with complaining, woe sharing and swapping fun stories.
When I was coming up with my menu for a girl dinner, I knew it had to be inspired by the GOATs of gathering places. Chilis, Applebees, or a dope local Mexican restaurant are places that come to mind for me when I picture a girly debrief. The salty foods, sweet cold drinks and finger foods that are meant for sharing are symbolic to an FBI level tea spill. When curating my menu, I knew it needed a sweet frozen cocktail, and tons of comfort appetizers. This menu is so fun, picky eater-friendly, and some of the components can be made ahead. You can also divide the labor and have each friend make one of the recipes and do a little potluck! You know your girls will participate and help out, which is why I am so for the girls. We show up for each other.
I am so stoked to share the recipes that I featured at my Girl Dinner. You can use these recipes for Galentine's day, a birthday party or game night. I featured all the essentials like sliders, tenders, mozz' sticks, lava cakes, twice-baked loaded potato skins, a spicy watermelon margarita and more. This menu was so fun to create and serve. I hope you love it as much as I did, let me know if you do!
xoxo Jess
